Wait for a Hare by the Stump
Han Feizi
A peasant of Song (a feudal state in Zhou Dynasty) was farming in his field where there was a tree stump. Just then a hare dashed itself against it , broke it’s neck and died. Dropping his plow and harrow ,he waited by the stump for another one to come. But there was no more hare coming. At last he only made himself a fool and mocked by his people.
