It's a wonderful song from Carpenters , the soft and a little raucous voice of karen and the warm trumpet（小号，I'm not sure about this word)played by Richard,they made this song completely perfect.I was conpuered by this song when I listen to it at the first time,something I couldn't express it in words entered my heart ,my words are not so good enough to discribe this song!The elegant lyric like someone expressed a love story to us ,maybe some of us have the same feeling,we want to close to someone,we want to tell her or him some spciel feelings.

Karen Carpenter is one of my favorite pop singers too! I like her "Yesterday" in particular. The sweet words go straight into my heart.

People say that eyes are the windows of one's mind, I belived it before when I looked straight into a baby's eyes, but I began to doubt since I attended the concert of an Italian blind singer Anrea Bocelli - such a pure, unbelievable beautiful singing touches the tenderest part of my heart anytime I hear his "Time to say goodbye"...

I'm so happy that you like carpenters as me,maybe the "Close to you"is not the masterpiece of Carpenters,but I really like it very much.Every time I listen to this wonderful song time by time,I feel peaceful,I feel karen's voice take me to the her time,and hear her feelings,her experinces,and her stories.

There are so many songs I like:Only yesterday,Yesterday once more,Top of the world,Rainy days and Mondays,Superstar...But "Close to you"is my favorite.

The lyric of "Time to say goodbye" are all in Italian except this line, however, it does not disturb me enjoying the singing because of its enchanting melody. Perhaps I would be charmed even more if I understand a bit of Italian.

Another bel canto singer I like the best is Sarah Brightman - once she sang with Andrea Bocelli in duet on a concert. The singing of the giant star Sarah and her another partner - a lovely little boy (I forgot his name) - is sooooo beautiful and angelic pure that no words, nobody can express!

The days of Luciano Pavarotti and Placido Domingo have gone ...
