Dear MaxGO,
Do I believe in God? Do you? If you do, how come? If you do not, why not? Did God create human, or as some people say, in our mind we created our "God"(sorry, God, I hope you won't be that easily offended)? And who can tell where our dear God is and pinpoint His position? None.
As far as I know, the majority of people in China will not even give a damn to our mighty God (sorry, God). You might want to know how about me. Well, you know, it is hard to keep any permanent commitment to Him. Few people on earth, I believe, have in a strict sense lived up to our God's expectations, since Adam and Eve. So, shall we draw a conclusion that God surely has never been in China, since Adam and Eve, simply because He is not so popular here with most of the Chinese people? Wow! Hard to say! You must be at least clear about one thing: The East and the West have different perceptions on the "God" issue.
In China, we have many gods instead of the One. Like those ancient Greeks, we worship all kinds of mighty hands such as god of fortune, domestic god of stove, who takes care of our food or even livelihood, god of land, who is a lovely dwarf, known by many by his occasional appearances on the once-a-hit TV serious Monkey King and so and so forth. Even some people believe Monkey king is one of the gods, needless to say Guan Yu---one of the historical characters in The Romance of Three Kingdoms, who later became a god from whom the HK police seek for godly protection by worshiping him in the police office, which we quite often see on TV too. If thinking in this light, then gods are everywhere in China, even on TV. But where is the "real" God who is charge of each and every thing in the whole universe? Gee! MaxGO, you are stunning me by your mighty question!
Is God in the West? MaxGO, I still cannot be less dummy on this question, since I do not really know much about the West, never been there. Have not I read of Bible like countless others? Oh, indeed! But it does not tell us where He is either (maybe I bought the wrong version with bad paper quality). After reading it, somehow, I once did believe in God but never had the chance of meeting Him or receiving His message that told me where I could find Him. In heaven? Then, where is heaven? I do not want this question to be more complicated. It is a never-ending dead-end. Anyway I will keep reading and try to learn more about you, my dear God.
Let me help you MaxGO now get a bit further or far-reaching or farfetched to say: God exists in our heart. Good heavens! There have been millions and millions of earthly angles making the same assertion that love, hope, justice and all the other good qualities of human nature are the gift and symbol of God. God is us and shall live in us, by us and for us. My gosh! I love God no matter where He is!
MaxGO, I do wonder how come you became so interested in God recently? What do you want to know His whereabouts for?
The following line is for all the friends (including God Himself) who may get the chance to read my above words:
Please forget and forgive me if I claimed anything stupid or absurd for a fun writing. Thanks!
Best wishes to our dear God and you MaxGO,
