Plot:
It was many a year ago, in one spring, there was a little monk took a stone on the tail of one fish in the slushy sand. Later, he treated a frog and a snake in the same way. As a result, he was punished by an old monk and he wanted him to seek for the frog and the snake which he maltreated, but they had gone with the sea wave……
In one summer, a young monk who was 17 years old felt boring of the simple life in temple. At this moment, a young girl came here to recuperate after recovering from illness. The young monk bumped into her and began to be uneasy and cannot bear the attraction from that young girl. At last, he left the temple……
In one fall, a man who was 30 years old, committed suicide in the temple. His body was found in the front of the image of Buddha. The old monk chanted scriptures with a young boy who was just came here that hoped the dead can rest in peace……
In one winter, the old monk thought his life will end, when he determined to leave the temple to the out world, but a woman came to visit suddenly and she left a baby. The old monk changed his mind; he went on his tranquil life with the infant in the temple……
A new life was beginning……
This film is one of the works of KIM Ki-duk, a famous director of South Korea whose style is very strange and rebellious.
